EDCHardware EDC1-B

EDCHardware EDC1-B

Having had this EDCHardwear.com EDC1-B on a bracelet, and wearing it daily for various activities, as well as on duty, I can say this is one hell of a watch. The EDC1-B has the features of a watch 3x its cost, and has the robustness to match.

The most obvious feature is the 3D appearance of the dial. It’s solar powered so the dial needs some outdoors time in order to function, a good exposure to sun will give you several months of use time. The watch uses a Miyota Japan 2170 Solar movement, and the whole watch is a new design, not an off the shelf design.

The crown, and case back, are both screw down so both of them together give this watch a 10ATM / 100 meters water resistance. For a watch under $300 this feature alone is massive.

The case back shows off all the features of the EDC1-B. It also shows that the case back cannot simply be unscrewed on its own, adding to the water tightness. You can also see the bead blast finishing on the case.

Another shot of the case with the “EDC” brand on the side of the case. This is a watch that was worn daily for several months since it’s release, you can clearly see the quality/finish of the case as it holds up.

Another macro shot of the crown, the attention to detail on this watch is easily that of a watch 3x the cost.

Check out the bezel, its omnidirectional and has a solid feel to it. The bezel works for timing, but also a 24 hour counter just in case you need to time something several hours away.

One of the biggest pluses are the bracelet screw pins. Yes, screw pins, not push pins. That’s a feature many $1500+ watches have and one that I prefer in all my watches.

Check out some of the detail.

Lume is obviously one of the best in the industry and crushes watches that are 5x the cost in most instances. EDChardwear.com from the makers of Lum-tec, has the best lume in the business.

There are a bunch of different options available, bracelets, leather straps, rubber straps, and there are also a few different dial and bezel combinations. Check out the offerings over at edchardwear.com.
